Helping out our community’s children is something that most of us can do, especially when you help with a children’s charity like ours here at Food For Days.
Food For Days is one of the unique children’s charities that is able to help feed children directly. Many people do not realize that children are not always able to have proper meals on the weekend. During the school week, children are able to get their meals subsidized by the schools, but on the weekends, they may be struggling to have consistent or healthy meals. This is where Food For Days steps in.
Screened by school counselors, Food For Days is able to find children that need access to extra meal options on the weekend. The extra meals are provided by our wonderful volunteers and donations and sent home directly with the student in their backpack. Currently, Food For Days is serving nearly 500 students in 17 schools in the area. We partner with local groups, religious organizations, businesses and other community leaders to provide these children with great options that ensure these children can keep regular meals on days they are not in school.
