Our nonprofit strives to decrease food insecurity in our local area.
There are many non-profit organizations that serve the Iredell County, North Carolina area, and all of them have noble purposes to help others and limit the struggles that come from daily life. At Food For Days, the purpose and mission of our nonprofit organization is to decrease food insecurity in our local community by partnering with schools to help children.
How does our nonprofit work, and how do we identify students in need? At the local schools we work with, teachers and counselors determine which students may be at risk for food insecurity. We then send the child home with a permission slip that needs to be signed by a parent, and once returned, the student is able to receive weekend backpack meals.
Like other non-profit organizations, there are many ways you can get involved with us and help students in your local area. For example, you can throw a fundraising party, organize a food drive, or collect our items of the month. At certain times, we also need hygiene items, so you can collect those and pack them together for students in need. We encourage individuals, families, neighborhoods, businesses, churches, sports teams, and all people in our community to get involved in whatever way they can!
If you have been looking into different non-profit organizations to do some good in your community, we would love your support. To find out more about how you can get involved and what we offer as an organization, give us a call at Food For Days today.
