Food For Days is a food program for children that you can feel good about.
While we in the United States are often thought to be a blessed and even wasteful country when it comes to food, the fact remains that there are still many who do not have enough to eat. Even in this country of plenty, there are those who do not have access to a variety of foods, those who must choose between groceries and medical costs, and those who have short-term or sudden food instability. Here at Food For Days, we are a food program for children that wants to put an end to food issues impacting children who are struggling needlessly.
Our food program for children works to bridge the gap between what the schools can provide and the long weekends. For kids who rely on school meals to meet their nutritional needs, they might find themselves without meals during the times they are not in school. Because our food program for children works directly with school counselors to identify needs, we are able to put portable meals directly into the hands of kids who need it most. Placed in a backpack, these children are thrilled that they have a dignified and safe solution to what could be an otherwise frightening situation for a young child.
Currently our food program for children is in 17 schools and services nearly 500 children. We would love to expand our donations and would be thrilled if you, your local business, church or youth group could help. We take donations in the form of food, time, and money.
