We’re feeding hungry children one backpack at a time.

When people picture feeding hungry children, they imagine sending funding and support overseas to help children in less-developed countries. Although food insecurity is a problem throughout the world, many children right here in Iredell County, North Carolina go without food over the weekend and come to school on Monday hungry.

Putting an end to childhood hunger, one backpack at a time!

Our mission at Food For Days is to do something about this ongoing problem, which is why our nonprofit organization works with business and community sponsors to give backpack meals to children for them to eat on Saturday and Sunday. All students we serve are vetted by teachers and school counselors first, so we’re always able to help the children who need it most.

When it comes to feeding hungry children, we stick to a simple and discreet process. We collect and purchase food, distribute it in backpacks, and deliver them to the schools every Thursday. Then, on Friday, every student in need is given a backpack that includes two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners, as well as snacks and drinks, so they don’t go hungry over the weekend. We welcome everyone from local churches and businesses to sports teams and individuals to get involved with our organization and help us make a real difference in our local community!
