Our backpack meals help many children who are battling food insecurity.

Many children in Iredell County, North Carolina lack access to a sufficient amount of food, especially over the weekend when school isn’t in session. Rising rent prices, unexpected medical bills, job loss, and many other factors can contribute to food insecurity in families, and our role at Food For Days is to help children who don’t have enough food to eat over the weekend.

Food Insecurity in Iredell County, North Carolina

Our organization works with over 17 schools and 15 businesses and churches in Iredell County to oversee our mission of battling food insecurity. If you want to support our organization, there are several ways you can help:

  • Become a child sponsor—You can sign up to become a child sponsor at any time! All it takes is $250 to sponsor one child for an entire school year.
  • Inspire your family, neighborhood, business, church, or sports team to participate—We welcome the participation and support of large groups! Throw a fundraising party, organize a food drive, or collect our designated items of the month. If we have a need at the time, you can also collect hygiene items.
  • Participate—In addition to monetary contributions, we need people who are willing to work at our fundraising events and help pack backpacks with food before we distribute them to children.

Helping local children keep their bellies full since 2011!
